HOW DO I ORDER A SPARE OR REPLACEMENT KEY?

To order a spare or replacement key, you must visit Mercedes-Benz of South Orlando in person. They key must be pre-paid. As the vehicle owner, the original & current vehicle registration, original (no copies) of the owner's drivers license or passport. If you are ordering a key as the owner's representative you must provide the original registartion, vehicle owner's drivers license or passport, as signed and dated letter of authorization as well as the representative's drivers license.

KEY ORDER FORM

When you come in to order your key, we will log your information on a form that verifies your identity and proof of ownership. This form will require your signature upon ordering your key and once you come in to pick up your key. This ensures that only you, the vehicle owner (or your authorized representative) can receive your key. This is in place to protect you and the security of your vehicle.

TIME-FRAME FOR KEY ORDERS

If you come in an order your key before 3pm the turnaround time is 2 business days.

For example, if you order on a Tuesday before 3pm, your key should arrive by Thursday afternoon. There may be delivery delays by FedEx. A key ordered after 3pm is process that day but the turnaround is 3 business days. If you order on a Friday after 3pm, your key should arrive Wednesday afternoon.

On 2015 and newer models, if ALL keys are lost, the process must take place in the Service Department and may take up to 4 business days.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MY KEY ARRIVES?

To pick up your key, your vehicle MUST be present at the dealership. There are no exceptions to this process.

Depending on the year and model of your vehicle the process may vary.

Your new key will either need to be synchronized (we can walk outside to your vehicle and ensure all of the functions) or your key will need to be programmed in our repair shop by a technician. This process will also incur a programming charge.

Please be aware that once a key order has been placed, it cannot be cancelled or refunded. Keys come coded to your specific VIN# and are unable to be reprogrammed to any other vehicle.
