About Lauren's Kids
Lauren's Kids was founded in 2007 by Lauren Book, a childhood sexual abuse survivor, with the goal of preventing sexual abuse through education and awareness. She and the Lauren's Kids charity help to educate children and adults on how to prevent sexual abuse through in-school curricula, speaking engagements and awareness campaigns. Every year, Lauren's Kids hosts a 1,500-mile "Walk in My Shoes" statewide walk to raise awareness for this cause. Lauren's Kids has even influenced Florida law and has helped to pass nearly a dozen laws that protect and support children from sexual abuse.
